Hyderabad: Parents of fourth year Engineering student agreed to donate his organs after physicians declared the youngster as brain dead under the State-run Jeevandan, organ donation programme.

One more family came forward for a historic move of donating body organs, Parents of 21 years –old engineering student has agreed to donate his body organs. Parents agreed to donate their child organs after the physicians declared the youngster as brain dead under the State-run Jeevandan, organ donation programme.

As per information, a final year engineering student of Gurunanak Engineering College, named as Sagar Babu was met with an accident while riding his bike on September 23 near at VMR Convention Hall, Injapur.  The boy was immediately shifted to Aware Global Hospitals, L. B. Nagar.

As per Jeevandan officials on September 26th, Sagar Babu father Shankariah and mother Saroja has agreed to donate organs of their child. According to health officials, the parents believed that their child will continue his live if they gave consent to organ donation.

The treating neurophysicians and hospital’s organ donation co-ordinators conducted counselling to the parents and convinced them on the importance of organ donation. Then the parents are agreed to donate two kidneys, liver, lung and two heart valves and those all were sent to various hospitals for transplantation for eligible patients under the Jeevandan scheme.
