Undavalli Arun Kumar is back in the news as he has raised questions on the Central government’s announcement of Padma Vibhushan Award to Ramoji Rao. The award was announced by the center on the Republic Day as it is done every year. Padma Vibhushan is the second highest civilian award in the country. Out of the 294 individuals in receiving this award Ramoji Rao is one.

The main allegation against Ramoji Rao by the Politician and the Congress Ex- Member of Parliament is that there are standing allegations on Mr. Rao in the court with regard to Margadarsi chit fund and other cases filed against his name. The court has not yet delivered its verdict on these. Undavalli also filed a PIL – Public Interest Litigation in the combined High Court of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

In a press conference Undavalli has questioned the criteria for awarding it to Rao. If the High Court accepts the PIL, then the Telugu states Andhra Pradesh and Telangana’s General Secretaries along with the Central Government’s General Secretary will receive notices in this regard. Mr.Rao will also be sent a notice and all has to present their criteria before the court.

Undavalli Arun Kumar waged a legal war against Ramoji Rao in Margadarsi Chit Fund’s case where Rao was summoned for accepting Cash Deposits from Public without any RBI Approvals. It is still under the court’s procedures.
