Punjab, July 16: PTU first round counselling results 2015 which was expected to be released on Wednesday delayed due to the ongoing strike by employees of Punjab Technical University.

Punjab Technical University (PTU), kapurthala has not yet released the First round counselling results due to ongoing strike in PU by it employees. All are expected it may release the 1st counselling results on Wednesday Evening, but university fails to announce results. The strike was done by employees of PTU regarding transfer of varsity funds to upcoming Maharaja Ranjit Singh State Technical University in Bathinda.

The Punjab technical University offers admissions to B.Tech and M.Tech courses through Counselling process based on marks obtained and merit list wise in qualifying exam. Apart from PTU, admissions were conducted for three more universities for UG and PG courses like Punjabi University Patiala, Punjab Agriculture University Ludhiana and Maharaja Ranjit Singh University through counselling process.

The registrations for second round counselling will be commenced from Thursday and this strike may take effect on second round counseling. The PTU has violated the rules of Supreme Court which instructed to finish all rounds of counselling by July 31st 2015.

The National Informatics Center, which helps PTU in counselling process, had delivered the results to University within time, but the results would not be published on PTU main website. As per reports nearly 10,000 students appeared for first round of counselling and in those 3,000 are from outside of Punjab. Students are still harassed by PTU because they can’t attend phone calls regarding this issue and Dean of PTU and chief coordinator of admissions Buta Singh also not contacted for students.
