  • About 75 extra services to run in Mumbai suburban.
  • 44 latest suburban services to be introduced in Kolkata area.
  • 50 more services in Kolkata Metro.
  • Again 18 services nearby Chennai.
  • 725 km of new lines are planned.
  • 700 km of doubling and about 800 km of gauge conversion.
  • 1K km electrification is also planned.
  • The budget which is planned is very higher when compared to past years of about Rs 60,100 crores.
  • Rae Bareli coach factory is about to manufacture 10 more coaches in this year and second phase of factory might be commissioned as well.
  • There will be increase in passenger fares both in general and A/C compartments.
  • Planning to have a separate Indian Railways Station Development corporation to have a grip over the stations on the way with the equal consumption of airports.
