Rajasthan: The results of the 129 civic bodies in 31 districts in Rajasthan which went to poll on 17th August 2015 are expecting to day by evening.
Rajasthan 129 Civic bodies polls in 31 districts including 15 municipal councils and 133 municipalities were held on 17th August 2015. These elections are the litmus test for the Vasundhara Raje government after she was pulled into a scam including tainted former Indian Premier League chief Lalit Modi.
The elections were held on Monday 17th August 2015, as per information 76 percent voters’ turnout. Counting was started today morning at 8:00 am and results are expected by evening. Both parties BJP and Congress are expecting results to its favour, while the ruling party BJP showed the confidence that it would sweep the polls, on the other hand Congress party expecting results to its favour duo to the “wrong doing” of the state government.
Results of 129 civic bodies polls will decided the faith of total 10,582 candidates, who contested for 3,306 councillors’ posts in in 31 districts across Rajasthan, and 45 Councillors have already been declared as open winners after the withdrawal process. The state government for the first time introduced minimum education qualification as class X pass to contest in municipal polls this time.
These are the second phase of civic polls in the state, first phase was held in the month of November last year where the BJP had won 31 out of 46 civic bodies.
