Rare Snake Species Found in Boduppal, Hyderabad

Boduppal: A rare species snake is appeared in Bodduppal, the first snake of Stout Sand Snake was protected by a member of Friends of Snake Society on 26th Nov 2015 from Boduppal.

Most of the people show interest to see different kinds of animals, birds and various kinds of creatures on the earth. These days, we are losing lacks of variety species of creatures on the earth because of weather conditions, pollution and other issues.

Here, a good news for an animal as well as creatures lovers that a rare snake species was appeared in Boduppal, this kind of snakes are not appearing either Telangana or Andhra Pradesh since more than a century. Now it was found in a house in Boduppal and it is very rare type snake.

The Psammophis longifrons Boulenger or Stout Sand Snake was saved by a member of Friends of Snakes Society from Boduppal on 26th November 2015. This kind of snakes have mildly-venomous on this terrestrial and be active at entire day and takes lizards and frogs.

Now, it was saved the act of wildlife protection 1972 of under schedule IV. As per the member of society, this type of snake species endemic to India with confirmed records only from Maharashtra, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.

The British zoologist G.A. Boulenger in 1986 collected the first specimen from Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh. After that no specimen of this species has noted from the southern states of India, said by Avinash Viswanathan, General Secretary, and Friends of Snakes Society.
