Saif Ali Khan Padma Shri will be stripped off due to his behaviour for an NRI businessman at a 5-star hotel. The man filed a case against Saif Ali Khan in Mumbai Court.

It is due to his behaviour towards the business man that resulted in the stripping off Padma Shri from Khan.

Government of India rejected to have a move to strip actor Saif Ali Khan of his Padma Shri award. It is for the wake of a Mumbai court framing charges against him for rude behaviour to an NRI businessman at a hotel.

He was awarded with Padma Shri in 2010. A senior home ministry official told, “Home ministry’s reply to the RTI filed by S C Agarwal to know the status of his own complaint.”

He said that the matter is under examination and it is a routine response to any query that relates to a pending complaint.

It is said that for such a query, the ministry should call for necessary records from the state government of India to validate the charges made in the complaint that is filed against any person.

So by having a glance, the merits and demerits will be finally decided. Before taking a decision, the case will be under examination.

One of the officer said, “Due diligence is done, including a background check by the intelligence agencies, before a person is conferred the Padma award. Also, a multi-member expert committee screens the nominations for the civilian honour … this process was duly followed while processing Saif’s case”.

What Happened at Hotel?

Khan visited Colaba hotel and it is said that he punched on the nose of a businessman from South Africa and also his father-in-law.

It is also known that Khan and his two friends have pleaded not guilty after the charges from Mumbai court. This report came in March of this year. Government of India denied for this mistake committed by Saif Ali Khan.
