USA: The news from Governor’ s office announced that High School Juniors will take the SAT exam rather than the 11th grade Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium or SBAC. As per news the SBAC exam for 11th graders as of net fall is SAT now.
Last time Governor Dannel Malloy requested federal approval to abandon the SBAC exam to cut down on the amount of standardized testing public high school students have to take and finally it was approved today as per news revealed by Governor’s office.
SAT will be used instead of SBAC for academic session 2015-16 and it will be more than 50$ free for all Connecticut students. Many High School Students in the state picked out of the SBAC exam because they already had to worry about the SAT. As per reports, more than 200 students selected out of the test at Staples High School in Westport.
According to Governor’s latest announcement SAT will be offered for free to all Connecticut students it costs more than 50$. Dianna Wentzell, State Department of Education Commissioner said that her department has been talking with educational partners for last couple of years about the burden of test and finally it made.
She also said, “This approval allows us to enlarge opportunity for students as it strengthens responsibility to ensure that we deliver on our promise to prepare all students for success in college and careers.
