Chennai: Comedian cum Hero, Singampuli is trending now to do a lead role in upcoming Tamil movie, Yogiyan Varaan Somba Thooki Ulla Vai that is directed by Swami Raja.
Kollywood is right now going through a phase where actors write songs, compose music and Comedians, Directors, Musicians become lead actors. Lots of films even taste success and even lots more taste failure,this trend has started all of a sudden.
Recently, Vadivelu acted as lead actor in ‘Eli’, Santhanam in ‘Inimey Ippadithaan’ and Goundamani acted in ’49 O’. Following footsteps of those actors, now another comedy actor Singampuli is also acting as lead hero in the upcoming movie ‘Yogiyan Varaan Somba Thooki Ulla Vai’. This will be directed by Debutant director Swami Raja.
Apart from Singampuli, the movie will have debutante actors Vijay.R.Nagaraj and Priya Menon. From sources we heard that Singam Puli essays character named ‘Yogiyan’ who helps the young teenagers to get married and help their love life. He saves the lovers and provides shelter from them.
Most of the shooting has happened around Coutrallam and its surroundings. Regarding being lead actor Singampuli says, “I am just a comedy actor and I am not the lead actor. The title has my character name and that’s it.” The actor seems to keep a low profile of being an actor.
