Successful Heart Transplant of Pakistani Boy Made at Chennai

Hyderabad, July 15: Successful heart transplantation of a 10 year old boy from Panjab, Pakistan done at Frontier Lifeline Hospital, Chennai. The heart belongs to P Vaishnav (12 years) from Hyderabad.

As per K.M Cherian, chairman and CEO of the Frontier Lifeline Hospital, Chennai, a 10 year old boy who belongs to Pakistan has been suffering with life threatening heart ailment was admitted at hospital almost a month ago and there is an urgent need of transplantation to save the boy. The doctors were alerted that a heart was available in Hyderabad, so they decided to use that one to save a boy.

The available heart at Hyderabad is of P Vaishnav, a 12 year old boy who met with fatal accident along with his family near at Ramoji Film City. The doctors declared that a 12 year old boy brain was dead and then the family members of boy accepted to donate his heart, liver and two kidneys.

If any of Indian recipients did not match with donor organs, then there is a possibility to transfer the organs to Foreign National. A 10 year old Pakistan kid who is a native of Panjab in Pak and who’s family lives in Dubai turned-out to be lucky. Vaishnav heart is matching with Pakistan kid, so doctors decided to replace it.

The heart was transmitted from Global Hospital to Shamshabad airport within 30 minutes and in more 20 minutes it transferred to Frontier lifeline hospital. Finally doctors performed the heart transplantation successfully and the Pakistan kid is recovering well.
