Hyderabad: Swachh Hyderabad campaign that was aimed for a clean and green Hyderabad city seems to end up without cleaning only.
The state government has started a Swachh Hyderabad campaign with the inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Swachh Bharath Campaign. The campaign was stated by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at Parsigutta in Secunderabad on 16th May with an aim to make Hyderabad a clean and green city and also announced Rs. 20.000 crore to develop the city in next three years.
The main aim of the campaign is to maintain sanitation, safe drinking water, clean environment, safe disposal of sewage and safe disposal of waste etc. The start government has also included the 33,500 officials to take part in this programme and it divided the city into 415 equal units and each official has same number of teams to continue the programme. The government has decided to conduct the campaign on 10th of every month. GHMC has also launched the toll free number (21111111) to solve the municipal issues.
With all these services citizens hoped that the campaign would bring the clean and green Hyderabad. But it seems like all the hopes of citizens have been dashed, from the last two months the state government has not organised the campaign. As per official information, the GHMC did not conduct the campaign due to the municipal strike in last month and this month also there is no campaign due to official’s busy schedule with Grama Jyothi programme.
