Chennai: Silk Smitha biopic Kollywod movie – Tamil director Velu Prabhakaran is likely to direct a movie based on the life history of erotic actress Silk Smitha in Tamil.

Silk Smith was one of the most popular erotic actresses in the early 1980’s. She entered into industry as an extra artist later the actress got noticed for role Silk in a Tamil movie Vandichakkaram. The actress has appeared in about 450 films in Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil and Hindi.

Many number of biographical films based on the life history of Silk Smitha were directed in Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi. In 2011 a biopic of Smitha in Hindi language titled as The Dirty Picture was directed by Milan Luthria, produced by Ekta Kapoor. Vidhya Balan acted as Silk Smitha and she received National Film Award for Best Actress for her role in this movie.

However in 2013, biopic of Smitha was directed in Kannada titled as Dirty Picture: Silk Sakkath Hot, Pakistani actress Veena Malik played the lead role as Smitha and the actress was praised for her performance in this film. The film was huge hit in Karnataka. In Malayalam also movie titled as Climax starring Sana Khan was released based on Smitha life story.

According to sources, Tamil director Velu Prabhakaran, who had an intimate relationship with Silk Smitha is planning to direct a movie based on the erotic actress life history. As per Kollywood news the director wants to include together experiences in that movie. However, it was not yet confirmed, that who will play the lead role in this as Smitha.
