The Telangana State will be a power surplus state by the year 2017 and can produce 24,000 MW of power by March 2018. Hence 24×7 power supply will be given for the people.
TS will be able to produce 24,000 MW of power by 2018 It completely includes solar, thermal and hydro power generation. BHEL, Power equipment manufacturer, has bagged an order worth over Rs. 5,000 crore from Telangana State Power Generation Corporation Ltd (TSGENCO).
KCR laid foundation stone for Bhadradri Thermal Power Project (BTPP) near Manuguru that have a capacity of producing 1,080 MW of power supply.
It was about Rs. 91,500 crore of investment involved for the of power projects. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday told that Rural Electrification Corporation and the Power Finance Corporation made an agreement for Rs. 40,000 crore worth power production.
There was also another agreement between the PFC and TSGenco for power transmission in TS.
He revealed all the above details and said, “BHEL has promised to complete BTPP within 24 months and I will come to inaugurate it as well”.
By the end of this year, two thermal power projects with s capacity of 2,000 MW and another project of 600 MW production at Bhupalpally Warangal will be started next year.
He also disclosed that the TS government had an agreement with BHEL for Bhadradri Power Project construction with an amount of 5,000 crore.
In the coming days, 24×7 days power supply will be there by the extended support from Transco.
He added, “People want working governments… not a government that only issues statements”.
