Chennai: Producer cum actor Udhayanidhi confirmed that Gethu movie directed by Thirukumaran will be released on December 18 for Kollywood audience.

Udhayanidhi Stalin was a successful producer and he distributed some quality movies earlier. But with success of ‘OK OK’ he became a full fledged actor. But after the debut he is still struggling to give one average grosser. The last released ‘Nanbenda’ was a huge flop.

Right now Udhay rests his hopes on ‘Gethu’. ‘Maan Karate’ fame Thirukumaran directs the movie. Udhayanidhi himself funds the project under his banner Red Giant Movies. Harris Jayaraj handles musical department and Sukumar handles cinematography. Raja Mohan provides the cuts. Amy Jackson does the female lead role.

It has to be noted that, After success of ‘I’, Amy was initially roped in Suriya’s ‘Massu’ and she rejected that offer and she signed ‘Gethu’. ‘Pandiya Naadu’ fame Vikranth essays role of antagonist. Sathyaraj, Karunkaran are also part of the cast.

The team recently completed a lengthy schedule at Kodaikanal and with that the talkie portions were wrapped up. Only three songs were pending and they will be shot in some overseas location. Producer and Actor Udhay tweeted and confirmed the news. He also confirmed that the movie will hit screens by 18th of December. He tweeted,,”#gethu update.. Talkie portion shooting over!
