Udta Punjab Censor Cleared, Gets “A” Certificate With 13 Cuts

After many controversies finally, Udta Punjab Censor cleared with “A” Certification with 13 cuts. CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani Officially announced the news.

The movie Udta Punjab Censor clearance was in controversy for a few days. The title was retained by the movie makers in spite of some of the objections across a section of people outside the industry. Many film celebrities took a stand for the movie makers and supported the actions of the Udta Punjab movie team. But, the cuts suggested by the Revision committee has been challenged by the film producer in the Bombay high Court. The producer of the film is Anurag Kashyap. Even the high Court has suggested some of the scenes be removed from the movie as they are Vulgar and explicit. The final judgement is however still pending in the court.

There were many rumours that the Censor board – CBFC chief is acting according to the directions of the Indian Prime minister, Mr.Narendra Modi. All these allegations are commented as baseless by the Censor Board Cheif.

The script of the movie is based on the Drug mafia in the state of Punjab. The movie has created a few problems for the ruling party in the state. BJP is ruling the state at present. The State Assembly elections are ahead in the year 2017. Finally, CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani officially announced the movie censor clearance and it got “A” certificate with 13 cuts.
