World class player Serena Williams faced big heat in US Open semifinals. She knocked out from US Open women’s semifinals on Thursday. Her opponent Karolina Pliskova gave a big shock to Serena by defeating the world number with 6-2, 6-7 and got a place in finals.
Karolina Pliskova, Czech 10th seed who is playing her first grand slam title shocked everyone by beating Serena with 6-2, 7-6. Pliskova will face German Angelique Kerber who beat Serena in the Wimbledon final and who will replace the American top with latest rankings released on Monday.

Spoke to media Pliskova said that, “I am very happy and so much excited to be in the final. I don’t’ believe this. Serena is a world class player and beating her in Semifinals is a big thing for me. I really played with confidence, and I knew if I played my game definitely I had a chance to beat anyone.”
She also said that, “To beat Serena is my goal and I am not thinking about the final match. I don’t care who I will play in the final”. On the other hand, Australian champion Kerber beat Carolina Wozniacki with 6-4, 6-3 to reach US open final.
Coming to the match details Pliskova’s tensions deceived her as up 3-0 in the tiebreaker, including a double fault she made three errors.
On the other hand, Serena got 4-3 and 5-4 in the decider, but she wouldn’t stand on that. Pliskova is looking for right time and taking it when Serena delivered her sixth double fault of the match.
Defending Serve was very crucial while both are power hitters. In the first set, Karolina gained the upper hand with a break for 2-1. Pliskova won the first set in 26 minutes without facing any break point. Finally, Pliskova created a history and entered into final. She will face Angelique Kerber in finals which will be held on Saturday.
