The Doctorate degree has been awarded to the senior most Kollywood actor Nassar by the Vels University for his contribution to cinemas and arts.

The veteran actor Nassar has started acting from the age of 5 years. he was introduced into the films by the legendary director Balchander. The man has given film career to many and Nassar is one of them. The actor has performed many roles like the hero, side actor and character artist. He is not only confined to the Tamil movie industry but also, he is a part of the Telugu film industry now. His character roles are the added advantages to the success of the films.

Recently he was elected as the President of the Nadigar Sangam. The Sangam is planning to build a building for which it organised cricket matches too with the film personalities. A film is also being planned for production.

He is a known as the Film producer and director for few films. Vels University has recognised him for the services he provided to the film industry, especially for the South Indian Film Industry. It has honoured him with the Prestigious Doctorate Degree. from now onwards Nassar has to place “Dr.” before his name.

Isari Ganesh, the Vice Chancellor of the Vels University will be awarding the degree to the actor on May 7th 2016 in an even organised at the campus.
