Gurgoan: Visva Hindi Parishad (VHP) leader Ashok Singhal played a leading role in the Ram Janambhoomi movement in 1980’s passed away today at 2.24 PM in Medanta Medicity Hospital in Gurgaon.
Visva Hindi Parishad (VHP) leader Ashok Singhal passed away today at 2.24 PM in Medanta Medicity Hospital in Gurgaon. He played a leading role in the Ram Janambhoomi movement in 1980’s and finally he took a last breath at today evening and died in a private hospital in Gurgoan.
He was 89 years old and recently admitted to private hospital on Saturday due to breathing problem and other issues. VHP International President Pravin Togadia himself revealed the news of Ashok Singhal death. Pravin told that, due to Cardio-vascular failure and Septicemia, Ashok has passed way today evening at exactly 2.24 PM.
Singh was in the Intensive Care Unit under treatment in the hospital after he was diagnosed with right lower Lobe Pneumonia. He was on ventilator from November 14 evening. A bachelor and an RSS pracharak all his life, Singhal, adopted an aggressive style in the “kar sewak” campaign in the build up to the destruction of the Babri Masjid in December, 1992.
He was a metallurgy engineering graduate from Banaras Hindu University and he turned the organization in the Ayodhya Ram temple movement and wanted to internationalize it by recruiting supporters and organizing branches worldwide. The overseas supporters contributed immensely to the VHP campaign. However, his soul may rest in peace.
