Ahmedabad, June2: Bollywood diva Vidya Balan to confer with Doctor of Arts Honoris Causa Degree award today by Rai University, Ahmadabad for her achievements in Indian cinema.

Bollywood Diva, Vidya Balan is going to achieve a new milestone. Don’t misunderstand! It’s not regarding any upcoming movie or cine awards. Rai University, Ahmadabad is to confer Vidya with prestigious Doctor of Arts Honoris Causa degree today for her contribution to Indian cinema.

Vidya Balan is the one who reflects the strong side of a woman and brought a courageous woman character to the silver screen. She is delighted with the award and the actress hopes to live up to the honour. And she stated that it is truly humbling and overwhelming to receive this honor from a renowned institute.

She finished her ten years of film industry with good experience in acting at Bollywood. And those ten years celebrations are awarded with this honor. In a statement, she said, “There can be no bigger compliment for any actor than to have done work that has made a significant mark and also to be looked upon as a role model by young India. I hope to live up to the title”.

After working for small screen through Hum Paanch, Vidya ventured into Bollywood with Parineeta. For empowering womanhood in the country and her extended, exceptional contribution to the Indian film industry, Rai University thought of awarding her with this prestigious honor of Doctor of Arts Honoris Causa.

The University which provides education, empowering opportunities for all sections of society, especially for girls from the underprivileged sections of society is going to give this award to Vidya for her films to womanhood.

Vidya is now on her latest love storied film, Hamari Adhuri Kahani of Mohit Suri which also stars Emraan Hashmi and Rajkummar Rao in lead roles.
