Chennai: In the income tax department raid on actor Vijay, actress Samantha and Nayantara’s home recently, the actor and actress didn’t pay any taxes so far to the department.
We all were aware that Income Tax raids were happening in Actor Vijay, Actress Samantha and Nayantara’s home. The raid continued yesterday too and it was the second consecutive day. Raid went on all their residences and offices.
The raid also happened at residences of Shibu Thameens and PT Selvakumar who produced ‘Puli’. Film Financiers Madurai Anbu and Ramesh were also under Income Tax officials’ radar. By end of day 2, a report states that Vijay, Samantha and Nayantara have evaded tax of Rs.25 Crores.
IT officials have also recovered cash of Rs 2 crore and gold worth Rs 2 crore. The reports confirmed that the actors have paid some amount as Tax, but have tried not to pay the full amount. The source added that most of the income they have received has been invested in immovable assets.
Vijay in particular has tried to escape from Income Tax department for past 5 years. Sources said, the actor never had paid taxes for 5 years and he has made lots of assets to his name. The raid will continue even today. Watch out this space for more updates.
