Tamil superstar Vijay has turned down an offer to star in filmmaker Sundar C’s upcoming highly ambitious Tamil mega budget project Sanghamitra.

Tamil superstar Vijay has turned down an offer to star in filmmaker Sundar C’s upcoming highly ambitious Tamil mega budget project “Sanghamitra”, which is tipped to be made on a higher budget than “Baahubali”.

“It’s true that Vijay was approached with the offer. Since he was expected to set aside over a year on the project, he was left with no other option than turn it down. At this stage in his career, Vijay doesn’t want spend over a year on a project,” a source close to Vijay, told IANS.

To be made on a budget of Rs 350 crore, the project is being bankrolled by Thenandal Films.

While the lead cast is yet to be finalised, Sundar has already locked his technical crew. A.R. Rahman will compose the tunes, R.C. Kamalakannan will take care of the visual effects department and Sudeep Chaterjee will crank the camera.

National Award winning art director Sabu Cyril will look after the art direction.
