New Delhi, July 15: Indian Olympic boxer Vijender Singh is going to make his debut in professional boxing in September 2015 in England and he wanted to be first Indian to win pro boxing title.
Vijender Singh, an Indian Olympic boxer who won bronze medal in Olympics, is now a professional boxer. Recently he signed with UK-based Queensberry Promotions, a deal which is facilitated by his India managers Infinity optimal Solutions (IOS) to participate in professional boxing.
His first fight in professional boxing is scheduled for September 2015. Traning for 20 year old Olympic boxer will be started from 27th July, 2015 in Manchester under globally admired champion trainer Lee Beard.
He addressed the media here on Tuesday, before leaving for England, said that “ I faced many new challenges every day in my life. For the first time am going to participate in professional boxing and I wanted to be first Indian to win pro boxing title”.
For the first time Vijender is practising for professional boxing and is ambition is that our country should be known in professional boxing, which is dominated by Europe and American Countries
He also added that, “I made right decision at right time and I am ready for this challenge and I have already started working on my fitness. I am really eagerly excited to start my training under Manchester and am requesting all the Indian nationals to support me to put our flag on the World map in professional boxing”.
Meanwhile, newly formed Indian boxing Council (IBC) President Brig P K Muralidharan Raja handed over the first license of professional boxing to Vijender’s.
