AIR Vividh Bharathi Services Launches in Delhi

Delhi: All India Radio (AIR) Vividh Bharathi services have been launched on Tuesday by the government with additional 10 KW transmitter in Frequency Madulation (FM) band for listeners around Delhi.

 

Now people around Delhi can enjoy the popular Vividh Bharathi services of All India Radio (AIR) with their mobile handsets. On Tuesday, the government has launched transmission in Frequency Madulation (FM) band for listeners around Delhi.

Vivdh Bharathi is one of the most popular services of AIR, so far it was not accessible for radio listeners in Delhi because the high buildings of city stood as obstruction to its signals. So, now government has installed an additional 10 KW transmitter to access signals in and around Delhi.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Arun Jaitley, launched FM transmission and he delivered a message that, now th people can enjoy the ‘Vividh Bharathi’programes in FM mode on mobile phones with a range of 60-65 km with much clarity at all times in all weather conditions. Programmes will be available for listeners through FM band on 100.1 MHz and it is a mix of film music, skits, short plays and interactive programmes.

Jaitley said to reporters that, FM mode mobile applications of several AIR channels that are livestreamed by AIR like FM Gold, FM Rainbow, Urdu service and several regional channels will also soon be available and DD news would also have its mobile phone application. He added that, Dooradarshan’s ‘Kisan’ channel will be launched in the month May.

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Rathore, Prasar Bharati chairperson A Surya Prakash, I&B secretary Bimal Julka and other senior officials were also present on the occasion of launch.
