Finally, Volkswagen Ameo has been launched by the company with a starting price of Rs. 5.24 Lakhs. Hope this is effective price for customers.

Volkswagen Ameo manufactured by the German automobile company is ready to launch in India with the starting price tag of Rs.5.24 lakhs (ex-show room price, Delhi). The high-end model is priced at Rs. 7.05 lakhs. Ameo model is specially developed to suit the Indian automobile market. This is said to be the first ever sub 4-metre sedan model car by the company. The car is a 5-speed manual gearbox with 1.2 litre petrol engine.

Volkswagen Passenger Cars India Director, Michael Mayer has announced the launch and Volkswagen Ameo price in India details. He also added that Volkswagen cars in India offer the best of technology and safety standards packaged at an attractive price.

Since the entry in the year 2007 into India, Volkswagen has invested Rs 5,720 crores. In the compact sedan segment , the company has a strong hold. Nearly Rs.720 crores were invested for the development and the design of the Ameo car which is a sub-4 metre vehicle. Nearly 25,000 units will be produced a month at the Pune plant.

Ameo Volkswagen would be available across all the company’s showrooms from July 2016. The Ameo car comes with the front dual airbags and ABS as standard features across all the models. The domestic market comprises of at least 6 to 7 competitors in this segment. Maruti Suzuki’s Dzire is the main competitor as it leads the sales market. Nearly 60% of the segment is in the hold of Maruti Suzuki India.
