West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee has immense talent in various things. Though she is a politician right now, several sides have well been highlighted in past five years during her Occupancy as the Chief Minsiter of West Bengal.

Now, the politician turns into lyricist for a Durga Puja Theme song. She has many talents from painting to instructing for Rabindra Sangeet amongst top industrialists of the country, to crowd controlling during KKR’s victory celebrations at the salt lake stadium.

The song lyrics was so impressive and especially Shreya Ghoshal voice and Jeet Ganguly composition is extraordinary for this song. The song is convoyed with music video which keeps showing different aspects of a mother. The video is from a young boy’s perspective that keeps traveling from city to rural Bengal (because it can cover Ma, Mati, Manush in one frame itself) and seeing acts of kindness by various mother-like women. Just to drive home the point that the song is a theme song for the upcoming festivities in the state, each of these women’s faces dissolve to Goddess Durga at regular intervals.

She is a politician and a Chief Minister of Bengal; she has to of course give token respect to all religion. A line in the song, which is frequently repeated goes ‘Ma, ammi, mother eki, bhuli ta ki kore’ (Ma, ammi, mother are the same- how can I forget them?). The lyrics are basic but have a soulful tune.
