Chennai: Rain has stopped, celebrities along with PM Modi are going to visit the place and want to give their helping hand to the needy and people affected by floods.
There has been a huge drop in water levels of Adayar and Koovam rivers and this has provided some space for the rescue and relief operation team to squeeze in. Andhra Pradesh Government has agreed to do all necessary help in order to step out of this devastation.
Narendra Modi who visited Chennai yesterday has allocated Rs.1000 Crores as relief fund along with the 940 Crores which he said earlier. He also said, “The government of India will stand by the people of Tamil Nadu in their hour of need.” The immediate relief fund will reach the Government by today.
The exact numbers are unknown, but Army, Navy and National Disaster Response Force have rescued around 10,000 people . But still lots of people are marooned with swamps and water logs.
Due to the water logs, some electric poles have fallen into water and this has caused more panic situation. As a precautionary measure, the electricity board has suspended power in most parts of Chennai.
There has been No electricity for past 3 days. People are doomed and most of them are still making a living in terrace.
The help from Online media has been maximum. Each and every person who needed help was notified fast and rescue team made their work at the earliest.
Right now the whole city is facing shortage of necessary grocery items like Milk, Water, Sanitary pads, etc. In some places, Milk is sold for Rs.100 and Water bottle is sold for Rs.150.
