Today Google has created its home page to celebrating 229th anniversary of the first ascent of Mont Blanc, which is the highest in the Alps.
The highest mountain in the Alps, Mont Blanc or Monte Bianco is celebrating its 229th anniversary of the first ascent today on 8th August. Google has created a doodle for the 11th ranked highest mountain in world to celebrate it first ascent and is simply representing the White Mountain.
Mont Blanc, which is also known as Monte Bianco is one of the tallest mountains in Alps, it rises 4,807 m above the sea level and it is ranked as the 11th highest mountain in the world. The snow-capped mountain is also considered as one of the world’s deadliest mountains.
The ascent wan initiated by one Horace Benedict de Saussure, in 1760 he has offered a reward to one who could climb Mont Blanc. After several attempts on 8th August 1786 Jacques Balmat and Michel Paccard were reached top of the mountain and became as the first duo who successfully reached the peak. In 1808, Marie Paradis successfully reached top of the peak and she became the first woman, who reached the highest White Mountain.
To honor the first ascent, a bronze statue was initiated in the town of Chamonix. Today google also celebrating the first ascent with a simple illustration of the white peak mountaineers atop.
