Mumbai: More than 50000 Ganesh idols immersed at the designated natural and artificial spots in Mumbai till 7 AM Monday.

The ten-day Ganesh festival was ended on Monday at Mumbai with a peaceful immersion of the idols. Large numbers of Ganesh idols immersed in many designated and artificial sports at Mumbai. As per Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) nearly 50, 250 Ganesh idols were immersed among tight security.

As per Monday morning 7 AM a total of 50, 250 idols were immersed including the famous Lalbaugcha Raja’ idol at major sites Girgaon Chowpatty, Juhu beach, Powai lake, Dadar, Madh jetty, Marve with tight security.

As per information 9,714 sarvajanik idols, 40, 302 gharguti idols and 234 gauri idols were immersed at 71 natural sites and 26 artificial spots across the city and in the suburbs. And a total of 2,577 immersions took place in the artificial lakes.

Tight security services were arranged by civic administration, Mumbai Police, Fire brigade, State Reserve Police Force and ITBP Indo-Tibetan Border Police. As per reports a strong team of 35, 055 assistant sub-inspectors and constables , 4500 women constables along with 250 women officers, 1000 SRPF jawans and 250 ITBP personnel have been arranged. The entire visarjan was peaceful except the Girgaon Chowpatty where a boy was saved from drowning.

The traffic police has also took care about vehicular movement on the immersion routes as it closed 49 roads, while marked 55 roads as one way.
