Mumbai: Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani clash will start within few hours and gets worse for single theaters and multiplexes.
The Battle is about to begin in few hours and it is just getting more intense each day. In fact, it is getting dirtier. ‘Dilwale’ is going to lock horns with ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and the tussle increases for single screen theatres.
Multiplexes have already offered the same number of screens for both ‘Bajirao Mastani’ as well as ‘Dilwale’. But now it all matters regarding the single screens. This is just like the 2012 clash between Shah Rukh Khan-starer Jab Tak Hai Jaan (JTHJ) and Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardaar.
During 2012, an annoyed Ajay Devgn even dragged Yash Raj Films to court for dominating every single screen. But Yash Raj Films said that they made a package deal into booking maximum screens. Regarding this ‘Total number of screens’ fight, Trade analyst Amod Mehra says, “The theatre owners have no choice.
They decided which movie has to be screened on their movie theatre. It’s a risky business.” The Box-office collections of a big banner don’t affect multiplexes. But it definitely affects the single screen owners.
