Southern Railway, Chief Workshop Manager’s Office, Signal &Telecommunication Workshop,  Podanur published Trade apprentice Notification.  Applications are invited, in the prescribed proforma from the eligible candidates for engagement as Act Apprentices. Candidates who desire to undergo Apprenticeship training at S&T Workshop/ Podanur Diesel Loco Shed/Erode, Electric Loco Shed (Rolling stock) / Erode, Carriage &Wagon Depot/ Erode, Carriage &Wagon Depot/Palghat have to submit the application form.

The candidates may apply for the Trade of Fitter, Turner, Carpenter, welder, Machinist, Mechanic Diesel, Electrician & Electronics Mechanic. Before applying you should ensure all the eligibility conditions prescribed for the trade.

Eligibility Conditions:

As per notification, Candidates should have passed VIII standard – 10th Class Examination under 10 +2 system of education or its equivalent.

National Trade certificate in the notified trade issued by the National Council for Vocational Training is required.

Applicants who have registered with a local employment exchange falling in the state of Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

For wards of Railway employees such registration with local employment exchange will not be required

The age limit is as on 22.4.2016 should have completed minimum 15years of age and should not have completed 24 years as on the cut – off date for receiving of application

Selection of candidates will be on the basis of merit list. The merit list will be prepared by committee nominated for the purpose on the basis of percentage of marks in matriculation (with minimum 50% (aggregate) marks) plus ITI marks.
