Hyderabad: Akhil Akkineni’s debut film Akhil-The Power of Jua has failed to collect expected figures and it would be the another big disaster of this year after Bruce Lee
Akhil Akkineni debut “Akhil-The Power of Jua” had released on November 11 on the eve of Diwali and it stood as average grosser at box office. Akhil has created sensation at box office on 1st day by collecting Rs. 9 Cr worldwide. However from second day collections were dropped unanimously.
Akhil has been released in large number of screens all over world and it had done a prerelease business of Rs. 40 Cr. But now, figures are not good and it is running with weak performance. Akhil movie has done average business at the US box office in its opening weekend, becoming another big Tollywood disaster after “Bruce Lee”.
“Akhil: The Power of Jua” has collected $160,645 (Rs 1.06 crore) from 107 screens at the US box office in the five-day-extended first weekend. It has failed to beat the record of recent release “Kanche”, which collected $371,381 (Rs 2.41 crore) from 130 screens in its opening weekend.
Apart from overseas here also it has managed to collect less than Rs. 20 Crore on first weekend and distributors or buyers are in dilemma to get budget. However, Producer Nitin responding on this and Akhil is running with good numbers and no need to worry about collections in coming days we will collect total amount.
Akhil got good appreciations from his dance and fights while V.V. Vinayak story and screenplay is not up to the mark and looks lazy in many areas.
