Kerala: Anjana, a 3 year-old kid who was joined in SAT Hospital donated her Liver, Cornea, two Kidneys after declaration of brain dead and became the youngest organ donor.

A three year old girl named Anjana from Thiruvananthapuram was admitted into SAT Hospital on Thursday. Later she was declared as brain dead on Saturday itself, she donated her organs, liver, two kidneys cornea. Doctors said that these organs are harvested from the kid on Saturday at 11 PM. And they are transplanted into a 5 year-old boy from Kerala Institute of Medical Sciences.

It is said that the body organs are sent to KIMS hospital on Sunday at 2.30 AM and they are transplanted into the 5 year–old boy and doctors said that the condition of boy can be said by evening. Anjana by donating her liver, kidneys and cornea became the youngest organ donor till date. She is the daughter of Ajith who lives at Enikkara near Karakulam in Thiruvananthapuram.

On Thursday, while she is playing, the girl fell and admitted into hospital for which a severe brain damage happened. The little girl fought with death for two days and brain was found dead in Saturday. With the request from Doctors, her parents accepted to donate her organs.

Kerala Network of Organ Sharing (KNOS) under the State Government’s support, took immediate action and Doctors from KIMS hospital started harvesting the organs from 11 PM in the Saturday night only. Later on Sunday, the cremation of Anjana took place on Sunday.
