Versatile South Indian beauty Anushka Shetty will be taking as the female lead for Venkatesh upcoming flick Guru which is an official remake of bilingual film SaalaKhadoos. In original version Madhavan has played a lead role and now Venkatesh will be seen in that role for Telugu version. According to the latest updates, popular actress Anushka Shetty name was heard to play the female lead and an official announcement is not yet made.

Anushka plays the role of Ritika Singh who will be seen as the student. It is a sports drama based on boxing. Already the movie has been launched, and the first look of Guru out and got a tremendous response from the audience. Tollywood star Victory Venkatesh look was superb and giving a fresh appearance. Latest reports said that makers had approached the Baahubali actress and the star showed interest to do this film.

She will be seen as a student for Venkatesh and later fall in love with him. As the movie will be based on sports drama, makers felt that Venkatesh and Anushka are suitable for this role.
