Bhubaneswar: A team of students from Bhubaneswar earned a prestigious Nasa award for designing a new puncture proof tire technology for automatives.
The Create the Future Design Contest 2015 has been conducted successfully by the Nasa Tech Brief in New York on Friday. Lot of candidates from different states attended for this function and few scholars from Bhubaneswar state got Nasa Award for inventing an extraordinary technology which is very useful to Automobiles. A team of intellectuals from the state has designed a new technology which is puncture proof tire technology.
This event was organized jointly by Nasa and Society of Automobile Engineers International. The technology is (BPPC) which stands Burst Prevention and Puncture Curative technology developed by Sameer Panda who is from Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) along with Udit Bondia, K N Panda and Smitiparna Satpathy earned the award to TycheeJuno, the team’s firm working on disruptive and breakthrough innovation in Technology related to automotive and headquartered in Pennsylvania.
Panda told that, “It was among eight teams globally to have got awards in the event. This is very nice technology and it not only decreases the chances of burst due to tire over heating but also decreases the possibilities and take care of punctures. It also takes care of dynamic wheel balancing, increasing fuel efficiency and life.
The team has developed multi-chambered tube and multi-chambered tubeless tire filled with a liquid layer of sealants, rubber particles, which prevent leakage of air in case of puncture.
