People of Chennai can finally breathe easily as the dark storm clouds has passed and Sun is finally smiling on them. This has brought a huge relief to both residents and the rescue agencies. The rescue works are being carried out in an effective manner right from morning.

Mobile Phone services which went away also restored and most of the persons who were deserted contacted about the whereabouts. Kodambakkam, T.Nagar and Tambaram got some rains. But still the areas had clear bright skies and this brought people back to the streets.

Above all, this helped in a huge fall in discharge of waters from Chembarapakkam, Pondi and Puzhal lakes. This has provided the much needed reduction in flood levels. Some transport facilities were also restored and today buses started their usual trips to neighbouring places.

Southern Railways also resumed its services and today special trains to Rameshwaram, Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi were made available. A resident of Chennai said, “Rains have stopped, but still it may take some time to turn back to normal life.”
