As reported by WSJ, the social networking giant Facebook soon to start content hosting for other websites. FB is planning to instigate this with a feature entitled “Instant Articles” from May 2015 onwards. Websites which are going to include under this are Buzzfeed, National Geographic and The New York Times.
Report says that, Facebook is working on this project from last March. Along with Instant Articles, FB is going to offer new ad models for news organizations to enhance their earning potential. Most surprisingly, this model is going to allow ad publishers to keep 100% revenue of what they earn and also 70% from ads Facebook sells for them.
According to the company, it’s not bothering about earning money from this project as it was never a commercial deal. It’s all about the engagement of visitors to stay and spent more time on the website.
On the other hand, Facebook users especially readers will definitely enjoy reading matters from all these popular news portals on their news feeds. Hosting content will include images, videos and of course news articles.
However, any firm news from Facebook didn’t publish till date and chances are there to postpone this project. The reason behind this may be disagree from some publishers who don’t really want FB to control their content.
