Mumbai: Search Engine giant Google is going to provide free Wi-Fi services at railway stations, the grand project will be started from Mumbai Central station.

Largest Search Engine giant Google has collaborated with Indian Railways to provide free Wi-Fi service at 500 stations by next year. Earlier India-born Google CEO Sundar Pichai said that the search engine giant will provide high speed internet services at 100 railway station in India now it has expanded to 500 stations.

It was confirmed by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he was visited the headquarters of the search engine giant. As per information, Google will kick start the service with Mumbai Central station and the work will be started next month. As per reports high speed public Wi-Fi services will be expected to be ready for users by mid-October.

The Wi-Fi will be free for the first 30 minutes over a 24 hours period with high-speed network where user can enjoy HD video streaming services and can download a movie in four minutes. If the users use the services beyond 30 minutes, they have to pay for the service.

As per sources, the project is aimed to provide internet services to one crore passengers at 100 busiest railway stations in India by mid-2016 later it will be expanded to 300 other stations. These Wi-Fi services will also support the Prime Minister Modi’s Digital India campaign.

Search Engine giant Google is also planning launches Android next month where users can type in 11 Indian languages including Modi’s mother tongue Gujarati.
