Khammam: RCUES, Osmania University, Hyderabad is preparing a project report for implementation of AMRUT in Kothagudem with the helpling hand from Telangana State government.

To improve civic amenities in Kothagudem, the Telangana state government has decided to set up Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), for this the expertise of Regional Centre for Urban and Environmental Studies (RCUES), Osmania University, Hyderabad are preparing detail project report to implement it at Kothagudem.

Kothagudem district is center for Coal and is one among 13 municipal towns in Telangana State to implement the center government leading project AMRUT under urban development scheme. According to sources, district MLA Jalagam Venkat Rao has written a letter to officials for an expertise team of the premier institute for implementation of AMRUT in Kothagudem.

As per sources, the proposal was sent to the RCUES for its approval, once the proposal is approved, the expertise team of RCUES are expecting to conduct a survey in Kothagudem to identify the development needs and prepare detailed project report for AMRUT.

The civic officials are expecting that, RCUES will improve public infrastructure facilities, change the comprehensive solid waste management mechanism and storm water drainage system, combined urban transport system in the coal town. Officials assumed that, with this move civic problems which are being faced by denizens of Kothagudem will be reduced.
