India seems to bid for 2024 Olympic Games and if it can manage to win the bid, Ahmedabad might be the venue for the games on going.

“India is on the right track for restarting the sports in the country”

Thomas Bach, the President of International Olympic Committee (IOC) visited India last month. When he was in an official meet with PM Modi, he was positive about the works to host the 2024 Olympic Games in Ahmedabad.

Olympic Games 2014 hosting will place leas role in that and the dates are not yet decided to conduct. This is main part that will consume lot of time.

The dates are yet to be finalised but going by the reports, hosting the Olympic Games in 2024 will consume most part of the discussion between the two dignitaries.

It is the dream of PM Modi to make India a powerhouse of sports and he told that he can work as much as possible to achieve this goal.

Ajit Mohan Sharan, the Secretary of Sports already spoke with the officials and had a good communication with IOC officials. It is also a talk that he invited Bach to visit India in the month of April in this regard.

He went to Lausanne, Switzerland in the recent days for these discussions regarding making India a powerhouse for sports. But IOA secretary general, Rajeev Mehta and Sports Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal are not aware of such things it seems.

It is declared that 2016 Olympic Games will be conducted in Brazil and 2020 Summer Games will be at Tokyo. The ‘Expression of Interest’ to bid for 2024 Olympics is on vogue and India also started to bid for it. The National Olympic Committees (NOCs) will have to send the name of their Applicant Cities to the IOC by the month of September 15, 2015. This process is done to have a guide in order to decide hosting for Games.
