Bangalore, June 11: ISRO received the prestigious Space Pioneer Award for the success of Mangalyaan. USA National Space Society presented this award to IRSO’s achievement with Mars orbiter mission.

Indian Space Research Organization receives the prestigious Space Pioneer Award for the year 2015. The US National Space Society presented this in a conference which was held during 20th to 24th May at Toronto.  For the second time after 2009 Chandrayaan mission, ISRO gets this award at International Space Development Conference, but this time for the Mars orbiter mission.

Earlier in 2013, ISRO launched this mission and successfully placed Mangalyaan into red planet’s orbit. Apart from this, India became the first nation to do such a task with 100% success in its first attempt. India is also the 4th nation in entire world to accomplish such a mission after the USA, Russia and Europe. This is undoubtedly a great achievement for any country.

Recently, ISRO is working on Navigation Satellite Project and Multi Object Tracking Radar which make its achievement even bigger. Mutually, these all are the reason, NASA recently announced that it will join hands with ISRO on Earth observation project and a Mars exploration program.
