Manoj Bajpayee is an Indian actor who works predominantly in Bollywood and Tollywood industry. His notable performances came in movies like ‘AKS’, ‘Satya’, ‘Pinjar’, ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’. Right now he acts in a movie titled ‘Aligarh’.

The movie is based on real life incident of Dr. Shrinivas Ramchandra Siras. He got suspended from his job due to his sexual orientation. He was working as a professor at Aligarh Muslim Unversity. Shrinivas role is done by Manoj Bajpayee and Rajkummar Rao essays role of a journalist.

Regarding the movie Manoj says, “Hansal Mehta is not sensational by nature. We take responsibility of story and we are doing justice to it. Hansal has taken various social and political issues. He knows how to make the story a smooth journey.

This is not a movie on homosexuality. We wanted to make a movie on someone who deserved more than what they got from the society. I signed this movie because these are the kind of directors I prefer to work with. This is a good script.”
