Mumbai, May 7: Saatvik food restaurant Sanskriti made the biggest Jalebi to set the new record. It had broken the 2 Guinness World Record and Limca Book of Records with largest Imarti.

The restaurant had broken two world records in Indian sweet categories by making world’s largest sweetmeats, Imarti and Jalebi with support of one of the most famous chefs of the nation, Sanjeev Kapoor. The restaurant made 37 kg Imarti with an average 9 feet diameter in 3 hours and 48 minutes on May 3, 2015. The team also made biggest Jalebi weighing 18kgs with 9 feet diameter, by breaking the previous record 8.2 feet.

Head chef of Mumbai’s Sanskriti Restaurant, Gaurav Chaturvedi told to reporters that “12 people teamed up to make this and they took nearly 4 hours’ time for this, the team took 100 days of practice and close to 20 hours of work daily to break the record”.

Celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor also presented when the record was set and he started the first perimeter of Imarti and said that “Food brings people together, it’s an opportunity for people to share happiness. I’m very happy to be here”.

Sapna Chaturvedi, owner of Sanskriti restaurant said that “the imarti took 3 hours and 48 minutes to make it and Jalebi took 3 hours and 53 minutes, it’s a proud moment for us and I’m very happy that the purpose with which we attempted this event is achieved”. The final cookout includes 1000 liters of sugar syrup and 3500 kg ghee.
