The Sun watching NASA spacecraft, “Solar Dynamics Observatory” took a shot of 100 millionth image of sun. And the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) unveiled to the world as news from Space. NASA images are here.

NASA unleashed images of Sun by using four telescopes. Solar Dynamics Observatory that was launched on February 11, 2011 took 8 images, later on the people processed to only one photo.

From the time of spacecraft launch, it has been providing flawless images which helped in the study of solar atmosphere.

SDO gives 57,600 images every day. The production shows how solar materials sway and sometimes erupts in the solar atmosphere.

By this work only, the scientists know about the increased temperatures in the roiling corona than in the sun’s surface, the solar fares and also moving magnetic fields in Sun.

It also helps in finding the stored magnetic energy in Sun and its way of conversion and release into the heliosphere.

People are trying to get way in which Sun’s magnetic field is generated and structured.

The photo album of Solar Dynamics Observatory is already star studded in the past, Now, the 100 millionth image is found. It acts as an incredible milestone image as Sun was considered as an unassailable target few years back.
