The Korean car manufacturer’s latest Hyundai Tucson SUV car model is expected to be launched in India in the month of September this year.

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) unveiled the third generation of the Tucson SUV at Delhi Auto Expo 2016 and confirmed its launch in India by the end of 2016 year. As announced the company is planning to launch the Hyundai Tucson SUV in the month of September.

The Indian automobile sources believe that the new Hyundai Tucson SUV might be placed in between Creta and the Santa Fe line-up of Hyundai’s models in India.

The new Tucson SUV has an evolved design from the Santa Fe SUV and the 2.0 engine from the Sedan Fluidic. The new SUV offers larger cabin space and with electronic driving aids such as autonomous emergency braking system (AEBS), blind spot detection, rear traffic cross alert, speed limit information function, lane keeping assist system and an active hood system.

The new Tucson is expected with a 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 180 bhp and 400 Nm of maximum torque. A six-speed manual transmission will be provided for comfortable driving. The latest SUV is expected to price between Rs 15 lakh to Rs 20 lakhs ex-showroom.

Hyundai may also introduce Tucson with petrol engine citing a diesel ban in some of the states in India.
