Bhubaneswar: Odisha Civil Service OCS Preliminary exam is expected to be conducted on coming November 8 at five Zonal centres such as Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Berhampur, Baleswar and Sambalpur.

Odisha Civil Service is planning to organize OCS Preliminary exam on Nov 8 2015. Main and Preliminary examinations will be organized at five Zonal centres such as Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Berhampur, Baleswar and Sambalpur. Recently the organization has published notification about Preliminary as well Mains examinations on its official website i.e. www.opsc.gov.in.

OPSC will call candidates whoever qualified in the Preliminary Examination for attending to Main examination. The commission will fix Preliminary exam qualifying marks and given marks should not be counted for ranking.

The Main examination will contain Odia language, general studies – I and II papers, English essay, two subjects which are optional having two papers each as prescribed.

After finishing both Preliminary and Mains exam, candidates who will have minimum marks in Mains exam called for personality test. It contains 250 marks and fixed marks will not give to each question.

Based on the total marks of written test and interview or personality test candidates ranking will be decided. Qualified persons will be allotted to various services depending on their rank.

Candidates will be granted marks for each correct question and one – fourth marks assigned to that questions shall be removed if incorrect each answers, no deduction for correct answers.

The Preliminary exam will consist of two papers of objective type and each paper shall be two hours time. Paper-I and Paper –II will carry 200 marks. Many candidates are preparing for appearing to the OCS Preliminary Exam on Nov 8.
