Royal Enfield has announced its new launch of mid-sized segment bike in India by next year with range 600 to 650 CC engine capacity.
Royal Enfield one of the pioneers in the motorcycle manufacturing field, had announced their plans to launch a new bike in India with the engine capacity which ranges between 600 to 650 cc. The bike is expected to be revealed in the next year itself. The company has brought this bike into the market in competition to Hardley Davidson’s Street 750 cc bike.
The British-based bike manufacturing company Royal Enfield has taken up the task to manufacture the bikes with 200 to 700 cc engine capacity. The R&D has been working over a period in this regard. The series of bikes will be named after “P 61”.
The company has targetted the European market especially. Apart from that the markets in Dubai, UAE, Australia, South East also been concentrated.
Earlier, the complete Indian made bike, ‘Himalayan’ attracted a huge response from the customers for the company. The bike was completely manufactured in India itself. Royal Enfield motorcycles are being sold in India since 1949.
In 1955, Enfield Cycle Company partnered with Madras Motors in India and formed Enfield of India. The unit is based in Chennai, and it started assembling the 350cc Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle in Chennai. At first, the machines were assembled by importing the components from England. From the year 1957, Enfield of India acquired the machines necessary to build components and by the year 1962 completely all the components were made in India itself.
