Renault Kwid has crossed the sales figures when compared to the most successful model Maruti Swift by the end of first quarter.

The French manufacturer Renault has introduced a small car in India. The recent introduction by the Renault India has been successfully boosted the company sales figures in the month of June 2016. At the end of the June 2016, sales reports suggest that Renault Kwid has crossed Maruti Suzuki’s Swift sales.

Around 9,459 Renault Kwid units were sold by June month whereas 9,033 units of Swift were only sold out. A clear lead in sales is however, defended by the Maruti Suzuki India. The officials say that due to the production halt in the name of maintenance has affected the sales. The company also suffered with a fire accident in one of its production plants. This is also one of the reasons for the gap in production and which resulted on sales.

One more reason for the decline in the Maruti Suzuki Swift model sales is that the sibling Maruti Suzuki Baleno has also competed in the same Hatchback segment. The small cars of the company, Alto and the Sedan model Dzire has also suffered the decline in sales at the end of the quarter which ended in June.

However, Renault has been successful in the small car segment in India. The latest model cars in India by the Renault has made the Renault India to announce some more new model cars in India. The company is thinking to launch an AMT variant in a 1.0-liter model only. There are also plans to launch a more safer and more powerful engine vehicles in the coming days. One among them is the Sedan model Megane. This sedan model may be launched some where in the next year. Renault India plans to produce the Kwid model at a faster rate so that the demand meets the supply.

Nearly 1,50,000 bookings have been received till July for the Renault Kwid model since its launch in September 2015.
