Chennai: Kollywood actor SJ Surya is going to do a movie titled 174 that is directed by Debutante Manikandan, this movie is considered to be a Crime/Mystery genre based story.

S.J.Surya was last seen in the movie ‘Isai’. He himself acted and directed the movie. He also made his debut as composer in that project. Later it was said that he will be directing Vijay’s 60th venture. As per reports the movie was even said to be ‘Kushi 2’.

But the chance of directing llayathalapathy Vijay’s 60th movie went to Bharathan of ‘Azhagiya Tamizh Magan’ fame. As the news was made official, the actor cum director also announced his next project. This is going to be a new genre in Kollywood and this time he will just act in the movie.

Direction will be handled by Debutante Manikandan who was a former assistant of Director Selvaraghavan. The movie is labelled as Crime/Mystery genre. Credible sources revealed that the movie deals with section 174 of the criminal procedure code relating to a person dying under mysterious circumstances.

As per latest reports SJ Surya is doing role of a cop who investigates murders happening in city. A pattern was found regarding the murders. Watch out this space for more updates.
