The best Formula Student Electric Car was developed and inbuilt, however, less than one a year by a team of thirty students at ETH Zurich and Medick University of Applied Sciences and humanities in Svizzera.

It reached the speed after covering less than 30 metres of track at the Dubendorf air base near Zurich. The previous world record stood at 1.779 seconds and was set last year by a team at the University of Stuttgart in Germany. The electric racing car accelerated from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour (kph) in just 1.513 seconds to set the new world record.

The Grimsel is Academic Motorsports Club Zurich (AMZ)’s fifth electric vehicle and sets new standards in lightweight construction and electric drive technology. The Grimsel weight is 168 kg which is made by carbon fiber material.especially the wheels are made by Wheel Hun motors which are capable of providing 200hp and 1700NM.

Engineering students have used high technology to control the each wheel individually which can be for further accelerations. No other car can reach an acceleration comparable to Grimsel.
