Giving a shock to everyone, a 26 years old woman in Uttar Pradesh has approached the minister of state for food and supplies Atul Garg on Sunday morning after her husband goes for triple talaq regarding a petty issue.
When coming to the story, her husband bought two packets of namkeen (chips), and she gave one of the packets to her parents, who stay nearby. Because of this issue, he uttered the word talaq thrice and threw her out of the house.
Along with her father and brother, she met Atul Garg, who is also the MLA of the residence, where they stay to get help. Speaking to the media, Garg said that she came along with her family members and explained me the harassment that she went through because of her husband and the talaq given by him. We asked her to file a case and also gave assurance that government will take care of it.
She had completed only her 8th standard and is staying at her parents place now with her three-year-old son. The woman stated that her husband used to beat for small issues and he shouted on the last day, for giving a packet of namkeen to my parents without his permission. He beat me up so hard and uttered talaq thrice and threw me out of the house along with the son. “I still don’t know how it all happened and it will become hard for me if he gives me talaq.”
Her father Mohammad Sabir stated that his son-in-law has been asking them for money since the past four years, ever since they got married. “Initially, they used to stay far away from us. But recently, they shifted nearby, and now my daughter was given talaq by him. So, we approached police for help.”
“Usually when a Hindu women approach us, we call up police to help them out. But we are confused what to do now. We hope the religious leaders should come up with a solution for this,” says Garg.
